Easily shifting from comedy to drama, from hijinks to horror, Carlo Hart is an actor, producer, screenwriter, and bestselling novelist.

Starting as a child actor on hit shows like "The Equalizer", Hart quickly realized a love of writing that landed him a job writing for the hit TV show "American Dad", as well as selling TV pilots and movie scripts to major studios.

Now, Hart splits his time between novels and TV/movies. He's written best selling novels, including his genre bending Mountain Of Fangs series, continues working on screenplays; and recently co-produced "The Banker", a feature film starring Anthony Mackey (The Falcon in "Falcon and the Winter Soldier"), Nicholas Hoult ("X-Men First Class"; "About A Boy"), and Samuel L. Jackson ("Pulp Fiction").

When he's not writing or producing, Hart can be found playing guitar, hiking with his dogs, running from Bigfoot (just kidding, Bigfoot hates to run!), or just chasing UFOs - all of which are easy to do from his mountain cabin outside of Los Angeles, and all of which find their way into his stories.

It’s tough to know which horror novel to pick up next. Let me make it easy for you. MOUNTAIN OF FANGS, the new book by Carlo Hart. If you’re the kind of person who wants to know NOTHING before reading, then just go download the thing. But if you are still with me: Hart is a great new voice, consistently funny (a quick google search tells me he wrote for AMERICAN DAD) and confidently in control of his narrative, planting seeds (that’s a double entendre, but you’ll have to read the book to know why) that grow and payoff in with expert precision. Oh, and there are cool vampires with sabertooth fangs. Hart also - finally - breaks the completely made-up rule against mixing your bad-guy species. Aliens? Check. AND monsters? Check check. Whoever said that “less is more” clearly didn’t have very much. This is a big story, though you are eased in through the doors of a classic, small, dark, and terrifying space, but one that opens to expansive vistas with, if I can remind you, vampires, aliens, and other monsters. If you’re a fan of Collings or Lefebvre, or you enjoyed a little pamphlet simply known as “IT”, then MOUNTAIN OF FANGS is for you. (Also looks great on an iPaid mini, no?)

New to this author. Easy story with lots of quick assumptions. YA mostly but very fun nonetheless, especially when it gets further along. Characters grew on and you root for them. I liked the combination of horror and sci-fi. Could use some more humor. Will read next book. Highly recommended.

I was about 50/50 on this book. There were parts that were funny, and then sections that were disjointed. Characters were good, if slightly B-rated-movie stereotypes. The story was there and it had a good base to it, but there were a lot of areas where the writing could have been a little more fine tuned. Example, the continual use of the main characters name. More than 700 times. I believe the overall writing did get better by the end of the book and because it's free, I'm going to give the 2nd book a chance.

This book was fun and a little scary at the same time. The good guys are likeable and they don't have a lot of personal problems to deal with. The two main characters, Kevin and Faith, are in a relationship that develops a new wrinkle, but it is a small problem. Then there is Diego, the monster hunter, a man cool under pressure. The plot is the usual one you know where an alien space race plans on conquering the Earth with the help of a sociopathic human. How does the story end will read and find out. I will be looking for the next one in the series to see what happens.

This book is a hoot.

As I got further and further into it I kept thinking, it's really, REALLY reminiscent of the movie "Cabin in the Woods." Horror, but also some slapstick humor.

Chapters are short, concise and generally involve exactly what the chapter heading is. Personal favorite "splat"

I was amazed at how many different tropes and monsters and just everything that got shoved into each chapter and then at the end reading the creator's bio, it was all "OH" NOW it makes sense!

I will cheerfully read any further books in this series just to see exactly how bonkers they end up being.

Why did I put off reading this fantastic book? This book is non stop from beginning to end. It is full of creatures running around trying to kill and the gang they are after are trying to figure everything out while staying alive. Oh, and just for fun, aliens are added into the mix. I am so happy that the next book is available.

I really liked this story. The characters were fun and so very different from each other. What I liked best is that is was very similar to the horror stories I read as a kid. The author wrote in a style that was easy to understand and follow without it being too complex. I'm looking forward to the next book.
